    Savage Content was proud to produce the All Without Words Live event at Cincinnati Music Hall on September 20, 2023. Inspired by the struggles, triumphs, and humanity of his non-verbal autistic son, Justin Morell —a guitarist, composer, and music professor—interprets the recordings of his son’s spontaneous vocalizations to create a stunning array of compositions. Through his collaboration with Multiple Grammy Award-winning trumpeter, John Daversa , the orchestral jazz trumpet concerto All Without Words was born. This important project sparked the partnership between Boundless Arts Foundation and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) to create this special live filmed experience. ALL WITHOUT WORDS MUSIC VIDEOS MEET THE ARTISTS JUSTIN MORELL COMPOSER Justin Morell is a composer, guitarist, and music educator whose work crosses genres between classical and jazz styles. He is an associate professor of music composition and theory at Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania. Justin's multimedia work includes notable contributions to Steve n Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can , Lifetime Original Movies, TV sitcom The Naked Truth , and The Lion King-San Francisco production. “What began as a mission to celebrate neurodiversity became an opportunity for me to connect with my son and hear his voice in a way I had not before,” said Morell. “The music is born of intense emotion—sometimes painful and sometimes joyful—and of hope for a compassionate future where all people are loved and respected for their humanity.” John Daversa is a multi-Grammy winning, Emmynominated trumpet player, composer, arranger, producer, bandleader and educator. He is world renowned for his dynamic and emotive style of trumpet and EVI playing, along with imaginative, genre-bending compositions and arrangements. Daversa is Chair of Studio Music and Jazz at Frost School of Music, University of Miami, and an active educator. John Daversa is a Schilke Music Artist and a Burglund Artist. “The mission and music of All Without Words continues to touch us all on deeper and deeper levels. Yes, our contest is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (excluding Puerto Rico) and the District of Columbia, Canada (excluding Quebec), and the United Kingdom who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time they enter the contest. Additionally, the video submitted must be in English. Do I have to be a Jazz musician in order to enter the contest? ​No, you don't have to. You can enter our contest as along as you are a Jazz lover. I submitted my video several days ago. Why isn’t it live on your site yet? ​A: We review every submission for acceptance before it goes live. Once it's been accepted, it is made live for viewing and voting. We will try our best to review submissions within two business days. However, if the video includes any of the following, the submission was probably not accepted. You will be notified via email if your video is rejected. Your video has inappropriate/offensive content or intentions. Please review our Official Rules for more details on our content policy. You’ve submitted a video created by someone else and presented it as your own. ​​​ Can I promote myself and send my video to people I know, encouraging them to come to the site and vote for my video?" Since settling in New York City in 1998, Pedrito has recorded or performed with many greats including Wynton Marsalis, Paul Simon, Paquito D’Rivera, Chucho Valdez, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Camila Cabello, and Sting. He is the leader of the "Emmet Cohen Trio" and creator of the "Masters Legacy Series." ​ Emmet Cohen is the winner of the 2019 American Pianists Awards and the Cole Porter Fellow of the American Pianists Association, and Artist-in-Residence at the University of Indianapolis. Cohen has appeared and headlined at the Village Vanguard and other major New York jazz clubs and international jazz festivals. For many years he was Hammond B-3 Organist-in-Residence at Harlem's SMOKE jazz club. Presented in 13 hour-long episodes, No Regrets examines the musician's early life, the evolution of her singing style and how her haunting rendition of "Strange Fruit" played a vital role in the birth of the Civil Rights movement that changed her life. The focus throughout will be on Holiday's singular musical artistry, her independent spirit, how her unique approach to her music became one of the strongest influences in the evolution of jazz, and how she continues to influence performers today. No Regrets is produced by public radio veteran Steve Robinson who has been creating, producing and developing radio programming for over 50 years. It is written by renowned jazz journalist Willard Jenkins (Down Beat, Jazz Times, Inside Arts, All About Jazz). The script is culled from years of Linda Kuehl’s interview footage along with new interviews with Angela Davis, Cassandra Wilson, Beth Roars and more. MEET THE WRITER AND PRODUCER WILLARD JENKINS WRITER Willard Jenkins is a journalist, broadcaster, festivals & concerts artistic director, author and originator of Jazzology, the bi-weekly jazz quiz show produced by Savage Content. He is a contributor to several books, including the highly acclaimed book DC Jazz (Georgetown University Press), and David Baker A Legacy in Music (Indiana University Press). He collaborated with NEA Jazz Master Randy Weston on his as-told-to autobiography African Rhythms (Duke University Press). He is editor of the forthcoming compilation of interviews Ain't But a Few of Us (Duke University Press). As an artistic-director/curator he has produced concerts and festivals, including currently for the DC Jazz Festival, and Tribeca Performing Arts Center, and formerly Tri-C JazzFest Cleveland among others. Willard Jenkins is the writer for the forthcoming, multi-part audio documentary series "No Regrets". His weekly radio show Ancient/Future Radio can be heard over WPFW in Washington, DC. Steve began his 50-year career in public radio at WBUR, the Boston University radio station, where he hosted a daily classical music program, was the station’s first fundraising director and created a Saturday morning live call-in program about audio components called Shoptalk which became the model for Cartalk. After WBUR, Steve helped start Vermont Public Radio and WBGO, New York’s Jazz station. In 1990 he became the first manager of the newly formed statewide Nebraska Public Radio Network. In 2000, Steve became the manager of WFMT in Chicago. Among many other programs, he created the daily program, Exploring Music with Bill McGlaughlin; Introductions, a weekly program highlighting pre-college musicians; produced and anchored a live broadcast from Durban, South Africa of the world premiere of Princess Magogo, the first South African indigenous opera and the first opera with a libretto in Zulu ; and produced a live broadcast from Salzburg on the occasion of Mozart’s 250th birthday. In 2015, Steve produced the first-ever cross cultural classical music radio exchange between China and the West. In 2016, Steve formed a production company that is producing classical music audio and video programs. Each episode provides viewers with a different perspective of the genre, as our carefully-selected guests discuss their unique area of expertise. Speaking Savage is a window into the music community and all the wonderful people who are a part of it. We have interviewed a wide array of music enthusiasts, from musicians and producers to music educators, historians, and photographer. Meet the host KONRAD PASZKUDZKI MEET YOUR HOST Called by JazzTimes, “a rising-star pianist,” Australian-Polish Konrad Paszkudzki began his career at the age of 15 when he went to university in Perth. He finished his undergraduate degree at 18 and quickly established a reputation as a leading jazzman in Australia—including becoming the first pianist to win the James Morrison Scholarship in 2008. It was James Morrison who said of Konrad, “To put it simply, he is Jazz! ” After relocating to the United States in 2009, Konradreceived his master’s degree at the University of Miami and went on to play with the likes of the Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra and the Jeff Hamilton Trio before moving to New York to lead the house trio at New York’s 54 Below. In 2013, Konrad joined the John Pizzarelli Quartet. Since then, Konrad’s 1000+ performances with Pizzarelli have taken him on extensive tours of Asia, Brazil, Canada, and Europe and the greatest jazz clubs, concert halls, and venues around the world, including New York’s Café Carlyle, Bemelman’s, Birdland, TheBlue Note, The Standard, and Dizzy’s Club CocaCola; DC’s Blues Alley, The Palm Beach Colony, JazzAlley, The Venetian Room, The Montreal Jazz Festival, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and Ronnie Scotts. In 2015 Konrad was signed as a Yamaha artist, and in 2016 began working for Venus Records in Japan. Between 2016-2017 the Konrad Paszkudzki trio recorded seven albums for the label. Aside from touring and recording, Konrad also serves as artistic director for Savage Content and Jazz at the Ballroom
