Songs on the Street: 10 Collabs with Elmo and Friends

Hi, everyone! I’m Colleen, Savage Content’s blog editor. By the time you read this post, I’ll be on maternity leave and waist-deep in newborn diapers. In the months that my toddler has drowned my Spotify Wrapped with our house favorite Sesame Street friends (“Bih Birr,” “Bert!” and “Abby Abby Abby Abby”), I’ve finally discovered the vast ecosystem of Sesame Street collabs. Sesame Street has hosted many, many icons from pop culture and uses its longevity to continue to stack episodes with recognizable faces for parents to enjoy alongside their children. It’s refreshing and fun.

Here's 10 of my favorite collaborations! While you listen, think of me blaring these in my living room while I try to (lovingly) shield my newborn from my chaotically curious two-year-old (help!).

  1. Elmo and India Arie “The Alphabet”

Huge fan on India. Huge fan of Elmo!

  1. Elmo and B.B. King: “The Letter B”

You were shocked to see B.B. King on this list, huh? I sure was!

  1. The Letter U and Smokey Robinson: “U Really Got a Hold on Me”

Smokey holds his own while the Letter U tries to steal the spotlight.

  1. Oscar the Grouch and Johnny Cash: “Nasty Dan”

Nothing fills Oscar with more delight than such a nasty, grouchy song with the King of Country.

  1. Cookie Monster and Ben Platt: “C is for Cookie”

Ben tries to be a voice of reason…but who can reason with Cookie? The chemistry is THERE, I tell you.

  1. Oscar the Grouch and Cynthia Ervio: “It’s Not Easy Bein’ Green”

Cynthia’s new take on old lyrics is convincing!

  1. Elmo and John Batiste: “Heroes in Your Neighborhood”

Genuinely, my toddler loves this one. Is it John? Or is it Abby Cadabby....?

  1. Elmo and Norah Jones: “Don’t Know Y”

Even the alphabet can inspire the blues.

  1. Zoe, Grover, Elmo, and Destiny’s Child: “A New Way to Walk”

The children need rhythm.

  1. The Count and Billie Eilish: “Happier Than Ever”

I love it when The Count gets to count.

BONUS! NPR Tiny Desk Concert

After a very difficult day with fighting nap as a 4-month-old, this is the video that started my firstborn’s obsession with the songs of Sesame Street:

Whether you grew up watching or are rediscovering these clips with your own kids, each duet is a reminder that music and kindness transcends generations, genres, and species (even the adorable red ones). Enjoy!!

I appreciate how fun and nostalgic these collabs with Elmo are, bringing music and creativity together in such a lively way. It’s just as engaging as exploring custom chenille patches in USA that add a bold and personalized touch to any design.

Fun roundup of Sesame Street collabs like Elmo with Destiny's Child and The Count with Billie Eilish—these street-smart songs bring pure joy to kids and nostalgic parents alike! Hosting sing-alongs in cozy corners is even better with a green folding sofa bed that unfolds for group fun without crowding the room. Loving these musical throwbacks!

I like finding platforms where you can just relax, play a bit, and not feel like everything is overly complicated or pushed on you. Recently I came across this one and I’ve actually been spending quite a bit of time there. It feels well organized, with a nice balance between classic games and some newer options, so it doesn’t get boring too quickly.

What I also appreciate is how simple everything is — the layout makes sense, pages load fast, and you don’t have to figure things out for too long. It just feels like a place where you can log in, play for a while, and enjoy the process without stress. Because of that, it’s one of the platforms…

A friend showed me Sprunki the other day and I got completely hooked on the music mixing aspect. You drag characters around and they each add a different sound layer. Pretty creative concept and surprisingly relaxing once you get into it.

What makes Geometry Dash unique is its combination of platformer, rhythm, and extremely minimalist controls, yet with a very high difficulty level, making the game easy to learn but difficult to master.
